• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

What is everyone's preference? I am looking for a central place to post a few pictures of recent shots I have taken. Since I have really just gotten into photography, I was wondering what would be the best one out there and who has had the best experience? I am looking for several things:

-The ability to also put in a decent amount of words if wanted (I like to talk/ramble about the images).
-The ability to post more than just three photos. I would say up to ten or so?
-Fairly large image capability and quality.
-Prevention of copying/saving the image...or at least make it hard.
-People that don't have a blog on that site can still post comments.
-Outsider's to be able to view it.
-RSS feed capability for subscribers.

Just from doing some searching around these seem to be the selling points for most. It just seems to be hard to find one that is free and has everything. Plus there are so many options!

Right now I am looking at starting one at posterous.com... but that is just the best I have found thus far. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Hey Chip,

I am pretty happy with Blogger. It wouldn't hurt to have a look...!

Chip, try out http://www.smugmug.com for a photoblog site option.
I host my pics there and it appears to meet all of your requirements above with exception of RSS but that may be a feature I have not yet found.
Click the "Gallery" link in my signature and it will give you an idea of how everything works. Try to right-click one of my photos and save it too. They are protected; I like that.
If you decide to use smugmug and want a coupon code for a discount, shoot me a PM with your email in it and I'll send you one.
