Ehy guys, I was looking for a nice radar app for my iphone 3G but I couldn't be able to find it. Anyone can show me something good? I'd appreciate if I could see tornado warnings as well. Thanks a lot!

hi Andrea,

these here are no iPhone apps per say but you can use your iPhone's browser to check these mobile sites :

wap.tornadocentral.com

and

http://mobile.weather.gov/
which has radar loops and they will include the yellow boxes for severe warnings and red boxes for tornado warnings.

look e.g. at the central radars :
http://mobile.weather.gov/radars_cr.html which includes NE, CO, KS and MO

and the southern radars :
http://mobile.weather.gov/radars_sr.html
which include TX, NM and OK

the small image and loop is too small but the "Hi Res " images and radar loops are good.

Thanks Ol, nice stuff.;)

I just downloaded Storm Spotter and it looks good so far. (I haven't been able to chase with it) I do love Radar Scope by Base Velocity. The data is great and quick. They just added interstates to it and Spotter Network tracking.

Go with Storm Spotter. It's easily found on the App Store. It's very easy to use and you can poll multiple sites at one time.

Thanks a lot, man, this is the only one that works out in Europe. Very nice app ;) You also have your location on the google maps even if the 3G's position is not one of the best.

I just checked the Storm Spotter and have to say not very happy. I'm hoping they will fix the problem where I can't get the radar to display. All the settings are on and it says No Image Display. It also crashes all the time. An update is coming I hope.

It was working fine the other day, but now nothing...

I am the developer of Storm Spotter. The problems you were having with the radar should be fixed now. The server where I download my images from went down sometime yesterday afternoon and was causing problems, but it is back up now.

The next update will respond to server-side problems better (i.e. notify the user and not crash).
