What is the best mapping software to buy for a GPS?

I use Delorme street atlas and have never had any problems with it.

Actually I use Delorme X-Map with it's own road DB. It's pretty much the same as Street Atlas. I also have all the USGS 1:24000 Topo Maps for Kansas and most of Nebraska loaded, via DVD. The topo maps show up when you zoom in to a certain level. Comes in handy for finding a high point to park on.

Delorme TopoUSA (6 current version) is another way to integrate GPS and topo information. I have used version 5 on the road and it is pretty neat!
