Best Free Radar....

Add another vote for Wunderground. Great free resource.

I also use WeatherScope since it works on my Mac. As others have mentioned, it's not the easiest to use and takes a while to get use to (as well as setting up just the way you want), but if you have a Mac, it's one of the few options available as a downloadable program.

Also, SimuAWIPS is starting to become a decent program. However, this program seems to be lacking in some areas (such as no VIL, SR velocity, etc.). They are trying to keep it up-to-date and add on new things here and there.

Agreed! Unreliable radar data can actually be dangerous if you aren't paying close attention to the radar timestamps. A lot can change about a storm in three or four scans.

I agree that Weather Underground isn't bad. I have Radarscope on my iPad and my iPhone and I have to say that it really comes in handy.

Has anyone tried out StormLab? What is your initial opinion of it overall? I am contemplating investing in GRLevel3 but I currently have StormLab. I am not an active "chaser" currently so I am not sure if there would be any point in getting GRLevel3 or if I would be better off using StormLab for the time being.

ditto on GRlevel3 - small investment especially when you are burning through $4 plus gasoline. You just cant beat it and its easy to open and operate, though the initial log in key is like a mile long, so don't loose it. You can use the key on a second computer, at least I did.
After that overlay your GPS (numerous options here) and mapping, if you have the time. You can t beat it.
