Best Camera Performance in Low Light

Matt Chatelain

We are looking to buy a new camera for the upcoming chase season and are wanting chasers opinions on which cameras perform best, especially in low light. Right now we are looking at the Sony FX1 and the Canon XH-A1 or something near or lower in price.

If anyone has these cameras or one that you believe performs best in low light please let me know.

Look for a Panasonic HMC 150, great camera, tapeless(avchd), it has CCD's instead of CMOS, so no rolling shutter. The HMC150 lens is wider than the FX1000, but does not have a 20x zoom lens, so you would have to get closer, but it's not a bad thing.:D The hmc150 is also lighter than the FX1. If you want a ''film look'', you should consider the Panasonic. And, with the HMC150 you can run an on camera mic and an XLR at the same time. Etc....
