• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

We have a thread for chase partners....how about one for those that would like to be available to offer nowcasting help?? There have to be many out there that would get some satisfaction in providing data to those in the field. Any arm chair or work locked chasers that would like to participate?? Sometimes it helps to have eyes and ears from the outside to provide some timely data. I have had the help from Jeff and Kathryn Piotrowski and Terry Schenk many times, and can say that the timely help certainly was beneficial to me in the field. :)

I'd be willing to help, as long as I'm not chasing. Maybe an anticipated event, a mod could start a thread with "available nowcasters for ....(date)"

I'm always willing to help, but it would have to be on chase days that aren't in the plains since I'm usually out chasing.

Always happy to help. Probably sit out a lot of events in the plains this year due to school and work, so when I am not chasing, I will be available

I will be willing to help as well. This is of course if I am not chasing myself, which will be most of the time. It would probably be worth mentioning that if you are wanting nowcasting help it may be to your benefit to be on Spotter Network so us nowcasting can see your exact position in relation to the storm. Anyway, I am always willing to help granted I am not out myself and even then I am able to help to an extent if somebody lose data for example and needs help on where a storm is etc. I am always on Spotter Network while chasing so feel free to give me a call.

Even with all the technology available this day and age, a good nowcaster is still an extremely valuable tool. Much like Brian, I had the nowcasting assistance of Jeff and Kathryn on March 28th 07 when I lost all my data capabilities, and must say, had it not been for their nowcasting assistance, things would have been much more tense and without assistance I probably would of had to call off the chase, I can even recall a few times Brian has provided us with some real time extremely valuable nowcast information. A good nowcaster can be a better resource than any piece of technology, I really don't like to chase without at least someone to fall back on should I need some assistance. Should there be an instance when there is a chase day and I am unable to attend feel free to message me and exchange contact info, I would be more than willing to assist in whatever way I can.

I am also willing to help out when I can... best days for me are when I am working that day...I would be available to NOWcast the afternoon unless the event is within 100 miles of my location.

What might work to organize the nowcaster availability is to post a quick blurb about what events one will be all set to nowcast for. Then whoever needs help that particular day can PM you.

I am working on modifying a page that will work to put everybody together.
It is a work in progress, but is a start. But, you get the idea I am going for. I still need to add a contact number input.

If anybody had any better scripts available and/or modifications to this one, I am open.

If I am not chasing, I will be available April through June on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays for nowcasting. PM for contact information. Advance notice preferred. I have unlimited long distance and am skilled at radar interpretation, and nowcast experience for chasers years past. I'd be glad to help if my schedule is clear.

Charles, I have no idea when I'm available, it will be on an event by event basis, can I suggest having a calendar and people being able to add themselves to the list that day?
