Hello all,

I'm planning on doing a comprehensive case writeup of the August 18th tornado outbreak here in Wisconsin, for those who were intrigued by the event (especially since it didn't scream outbreak). Before those of you who don't live in the area or weren't chasing that day tune me out...here's what I'm looking for...

 Obviously first hand accounts with the tornadoes would be AWESOME, especially the Stoughton tornado or the Sauk/Columbia F2 that hit the Badger Ammunition Plant.
 Anybody that would have any interesting data that I could throw in there. Don't ask me what, but if it seems relevant to the tornado production I would appreciate it much!
 Any photos...not looking for video as I am probably going to make a PDF out of it. Obviously I would give you credit in big bold letters under the picture.
 OR, an account from anybody who was just sitting online and didn't decide to chase, and was watching the storms.
 OR even reactions to the damage or event (it doesn't get much easier than this)!

I'm looking for just about anything...I'm going to try and make half with a personal touch and the other half with a more professional touch (accounts/technical stuff). Hopefully it will sum up everything real nicely and be something people can use to look back at the event. But, if I don't have enough accounts to make it worthwhile I'll just make it a generic case study, which would be less interesting 8)

Send any contributions or ideas for contributions to [email protected]

Thanks!

P.S. EDIT: Decided to add a poll since this is the kind of thread that even if people contribute they may not reply. Just so I can keep tabs on things.

:) Ooh thanks for the offer, I'll let you know when I get the case side of things started. Right now I'm still trying to seek out a few more accounts (I just have to have the story side and the science side of things). If you have a perspective from down there, that would be cool, I already am getting one from someone at the local WFO here. Otherwise, thanks again for the offer and I shall get back to you kind sir!

By the way, didn't remember seeing you on the "OU it is" thread so perhaps I will see you next year around the NWC. Lots of Normanites (is that right? Normanians sounded wrong. ) crawling the board so I'm excited to be going down there and perhaps someday putting a face to all these names.

Edit: LOL @ Nick and APritchard who responded almost simultaneously with very similar remarks. Nick...you must be bored...

That's funny I don't see you listed on their payroll. I'll take a #3 hold the mayo and a diet coke.

Can't help you out Alex, wasn't there. Is this for a high school project or something?

Nope, just intrigued by the whole event and since it was the record event in Wisconsin's history, I wanted to throw together something special that people can use as a reference...so I want to tap all the resources I can to make it comprehensive. I'll probably release it and then revise it a billion times but that's how it goes.

Can't speak for Chris here, because I'm not exactly sure, but I think he said once or twice, or maybe it was in his signature before, that he's an intern at SPC.

Alex,

I was on the F2 tornado that you mentioned. I will give you a chase account this afternoon after work. I have a few pictures of it too right before it roped out.
