Archived storm reports

I'm working on a project for fun (ie. non-commercial) that requires a database of storm events from roughly 2003-present. I've looked on the SPC and NCDC sites and haven't found much that would be useful for my purposes. I wouldn't mind purchasing a DVD if necessary, but I couldn't even find that available. I get the feeling this data is already available out there somehow.

Any thoughts on what my options are?

Although it isn't "up-to-the-month" current, you can find the official storm reports dating back to the "beginning" here: http://www.spc.ncep.noaa.gov/wcm/#data

The data are contained in csv files and the dataset is generated from Storm Data.

A few years ago I was learning php, and grabbed the data from the spc report csv's over http to local storage. It seems like this data is a goldmine in itself.

I was headed down that same road, except with C# - but it looks like Patrick's URL will save some time.
