Yeah, it ws the same time when you could walk into a Radio Shack and actually find something you needed because they carried it and the 40 year old guy behind the counter knew something about electronic theory.

I could almost see someone buying a bunch and reselling it hear...at cost, plus shipping, to help out chasers not able to get it. I'd almost pay for a bottle or two.

The past few years I've kept my eye out pretty steadily for Aquapel, but Auto Zone, Wal-Mart, etc, only stock Rain-X. I wonder what the deal is with Rain-X... they've got some kind of market stranglehold. Guess I'll be ordering online before summer is over.

I need to get some kind of anti-fogger for the inside of my windshield. My 91' Ford Ranger is always fogging up whenever is rains. I've tried the rain-x defogger product but it's no good. Maybe I just need a new windshield. . I think the windshield is the original from 91'. And yes, I know that opening windows will defog the windows. . . not doing that when it's pouring rain. And yes, I know that turning on the air-vents should do it too. Not for me though. I dislike my truck. I want a new one, but I'm broke.

Anyway, If anyone has a suggestion on windshield defogger, or any other ideas how to keep my windows and windshield from fogging up while driving, let me know!

Thanks, much appreciated.

Make sure you clean your windshield really good, and buff it every few days and before chasing. I keep a dry hand cloth towel in the car with me, and buff the window anytime this pops up...or before when I have the forethought. That'll take care of most of it. Also knowing your defroster settings will help. At a last resort, a new windshield will help, but I've never had to go that far after doing the above.

Stephen, you may have a deeper issue here such as the heater core seeping coolant and then it fogs the windshield over. With a '91 vehicle, this is a real possibility, may want to get the cooling system pressure tested. This is only applicable if the condition is worse when you turn on your defrost.

Thanks, Guys. The information is appreciated. I have more problems with my truck beyond just the windshield. . . like water flooding through the A/C compartment into my truck whenever it rains hard. HAHAHA. I don't even try anymore with my truck, I just want to beat the crap out of it now and then get a new vehicle.

But thanks for the info on the windshield fog. I'll definitely look into some of the info and tips.

I went to my local Advance Auto yesterday and bought their last three packages of Aquapel.

When I walked in the door the guy asked me if he could help and I told him what I was looking for. He took me to where the Rain-X was and said it looks like they don't carry it. I told him it said they had it on their website and he said he had never heard of it. So I told him thanks, I'd just look around.

I found it on a display of sale items on the end of an aisle. I didn't realize this was an As Seen On TV product with Billy Mays photo on the package. Maybe that's why it is on sale.

When I got to the cash register, the guy who helped me said, "I've heard some people say this stuff doesn't work very well. Have you ever tried Rain-X?" The same stuff he had never heard of 5 minutes earlier now was not the product he reccomended. I thought that was funny.

Can you all remember when you used to actually be able to get good advice at an auto parts store?

I had a very similar experience last week at Advance Auto. I went there to buy the stuff after reading this thread and the guy never heard of it. I asked him to look it up anyway because their website said they had it in stock. He was adamant they didn't carry it but gave in and as we walked to the counter there it was sitting on display.

The reason it's on sale is because it's a clearance item, they're not gonna carry the product anymore so they're unloading the remaining stock at a discount. Seems cheap at under $3 a pop, I bought their last 3 and will see how well it works. I like the duration aspect but my windshield's already living on borrowed time, $1300 damage to the car from June 7 Missouri but somehow my windshield survived the baseballs.
