• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Andy Gabrielson killed in traffic accident

I am so sorry to hear this. Stunned, really. I never met Andy, but he was a well-known name among chasers, and I've admired his work. What a tragedy for his family. My prayers are with them.

Absolutely horrible news, even more so if the other driver was under the influence. When you see something like this it's always a shock and you feel horrible for his friends and family. It's "funny", I never had the chance to meet Andy, but after seeing so much of his work and him on TV, you kind of feel like you did know him. A sad, sad day. Prayers for his family and R.I.P. Andy

I am deeply saddened and shocked over the sudden loss of Andy Gabrielson. Even though I didn't know him that well, it will be a big loss this season and the years to come without him around. His video's are awe inspiring, his passion for stormchasing was fathomless. He also was dedicated to his family and friends. A truly great guy who will be forever missed. My prayers and condolences go out to all the family and friends affected by his loss. May we all take a little piece of his character with us.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Andy's family and friends ! I never had the pleasure of meeting him but i know i would have had another friend ! With the season quickly approaching my prayers are for a safe season. It is a dangerous career, hobby , and passion we all take part in! We will all miss you !

Like all of us, I'm deeply saddened and shocked by the news of Andy's passing. I admired his commitment to chasing and the consistent quality of the video that he captured. Andy's footage of the August 7, 2010 Wilkin County, MN tornado stands out in my mind as some of his finest work - what a pro. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Only ran into Andy a couple times on chases but every time he was a great help and I always knew I could ask him for anything. Just goes to show us, you never know when or where, better live life to the fullest while you still can!

Like everyone else, I'm saddened to hear of this news. Although I didn't personally know Andy, I, like almost all other chasers, knew OF him through his extensive chase video collection he's captured over the past several years.

Whether chasing or not, driving can ALWAYS be a dangerous activity, and it's infuriating to me to see innocent people killed because of the careless actions of someone else. Any one of us (or a wife, son, daughter, mother, best friend, etc.) can be involved in an accident like this. I send good thoughts to his family and friends.

It speaks well of Andy's dedication to chasing that his passing made the front-page news on a major cable news network: "Storm chaser killed in Oklahoma collision with wrong-way driver" (MSNBC).
