• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Amature Storm Chaser Budget Chase Vehicle 2021 Edition

The Burb is almost ready to go, I just got one problem, my chase partner bailed on my, and I'd prefer not to go alone.

So if there is anyone around the Peoria area who wants to go chasing with/alongside me, just tell me.

Man this Burb is nice, its a shame that it's probably going to get destroyed by hail this year (Good thing I just got a job at a body shop).
Even before the release of this video, I was always pretty sure that this thing was going to be worth one day, but even having nearly 300k (I did a carfax and found that someone replaced the gauge cluster and the mileage isn't correct). It is still worth a decent amount of money.

Anyway, I took it to cars and coffee and somebody offered me $4000 for the truck.

Anyways, I just wrapped up this semester college (Online due to COVID) so I just got a new job at my local Maaco body shop.

That's great and all, but it means that when it comes to storm chasing, I might not be able to get much time off to chase.

I'm fine with leaving friday after work,
cannon-balling to like Kansas City or something, staying the night, then spending most of the day driving to wherever the action it happening.

If it ends up looking like a 2011 level high risk day, I'll drop everything and haul ass.

The Burb is almost ready to go!!!

It's near mint mechanically with new brakes all the way around, the NBS master cylinder upgrade, new water pump, half decent tires, and a fresh service of a recently rebuilt transmission.

I also installed a couple saftey items including reflective tape, and a saftey beacon.

Since some asshole backed into me and ran off the other day, I didn't feel bad about screwing my cb antenna into the rear door.

What I pretty much have left is to install my camera mount, sort out the wiring/mobile internet, and recharge the A/C (it did work when I bought it).

Everyone told me I should LineX my truck to protect it from hail damage.

So I took their advice and painted it back to the factory color with a single stage Urethane (I'm not a fan of the berliner look on a whole truck).

Now it's time to break In this fresh paint with some hail (If I can ever get out an chase this year).
