The AI GFS (artificial intelligence-based) is now running. None of the free model data providers have it on their sites yet (at last check), but the raw data can be accessed at the NOMADS site:

This follows the release of the Euro's AI version, the ECMWF AIFS earlier this year. The AI Euro's data is live on Pivotal and Weather.US.

What are the known biases in the AI GFS and AI Euro? How does each compare with its non-AI counterpart?

For anyone that’s not a full-time professional meteorologist, it’s nearly impossible to keep up with the increasing and evolving array of models, and how to use them for chase forecasting! Even the existing models are being updated every year…

Would be great if someone in the know could post a summary of significant updates for 2026.

NOAA has some info on the AI-GFS and H-GFS here .

Amazing how much less processing power the AI version takes
The H (hybrid) one in particular could end up being quite good/interesting

Wx models take less processing, but I've seen a lot on how AI power demands in general are escalating quickly, and it is looming problem as to supply/demand.
