The national weather service in Desmoines just finished a survey of the tornados that struck in Marion, Poweshiek and Jasper Counties, there were 2 tornados one was rated an EF1 was around 150 yards wide and was on the ground for 5.5 miles (maximum estimated winds of 105 mph) and the other was a powerful EF2 with maximum estimated winds of 125 mph, was around 7/10THs of a mile wide and was on the ground for 22 miles!!
