We had a series of strong to severe thunderstorms roll through the Central IL region this day. An initial cell developing in far WC IL near the IL river would track along the I-72 corridor before dissipating well to the E of Springfield. I intercepted this cell near Mt. Auburn and in spite of being outflow dominate in nature, by September standards it was a welcomed opportunity. New storms would later develop to the immediate W of this cell and trek SE though the heart of the state. For as potent as the frontal passage was, I was surprised to see such limited activity overall which remained mostly within the KILX jurisdiction.

Not on my blog, a short clip that was posted as a prank elsewhere to startle people. With that being over, listen towards the end between the flash and the thunder for the power line sizzle!
