Just time to post a quick video capture... More to come on the tornado near Campbell, MN.

Jenna Blum and I witnessed the whole life cycle of the drill bit near Campbell, MN today. Saw it form while approaching the storm and then ended up with about 15 minutes of tripod-ed video from about one mile southeast of the farmstead Andy G filmed. Also got video of that and can see the house staring to come apart in the inflow winds before the core flow hits it. Quite the violent motion on that thing. It had a pretty good rope out and then it reappeared and did a spectacular rope out. Briefly zoomed in on a tube within the tube, sort of reminiscent of the La Granage video TWC got.

Video will be up soon.

Kind of a nutty ending for what was a marginal set up. Had H's dog problem too. No Pringles with, but we did have some popcorn!

On a serious note, it will be interesting to see where the EF scale rates on this. As can be seen in the video, the rotation at ground level was violent at times. It's always a good chase day when everyone can walk away.

Full chase account is HERE.

Video clip only compilation is HERE.

This is why it is always good to look up when you are sitting southeast of a dying / occluding torn.

I was not in a huge hurry to post this, especially in comparison to what's already been posted, but I did see the tornado from 10-12 miles away. The video doesn't show it very well, and I was able to see it much better in person. Just wish I had gotten there 20 minutes sooner, but didn't get out of work till almost 4:00 pm so seeing a tornado at all was a big accomplishment. Still, had I done everything perfectly, I could've gotten there 20 minutes earlier.
