Looks like things are shaping up quite nicely over eastern KS into Central MO for a possible chase later this afternoon. CAPE values (3000-3500 J/KG) and shear (>45 kts) are making for a decent setup across this region. Depending on where the outflow boundaries end up from the overnight MCS activity, I think there will be a decent shot at some tornadoes by late afternoon/early evening. I just hope nothing forms in the area between now and then, so the air can get a chance to really destabilize. Right now I have my eyes on the I-70 corridor between Topeka and KC as a target. I will be keeping a close eye on the situation throughout the day and will make a final determination around 2 PM.
