Just got pics of one of the two reported tornadoes from near Bennett, CO. There are going to be alot of shots of these landspouts, they were visible from all over the Denver area. These pics are from my house, way up in the mountains west of town! These shots are from 50 miles away through a 150mm zoom lens.
This one stayed on the ground for up to five minutes as I was on the phone with my son's Michael and Eric who were out there chasing and no doubt will have some much better pics soon!

Posted: Sun Aug 20, 2006 8:20 pm Post subject: 8/20/06 REPORTS: CO Well, not sure what happened to my post, but I caught two nice landspouts that lasted a total of about 30 minutes. The DCVZ was quite apparent today on radar and even on velocity scans. The first tornado formed about 6:37 and the second formed around 6:55 ish. The first one lasted 20 minutes and was a nice rope, while the second one was about 300 yards wide and was VERY close to me, about 200-300 yards away. The first almost hit the control tower at Front Range airport and the second was about a mile and a half southeast of the first one. The first was moving westward and the second was moving southward.
