• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Very interesting how the storm fizzled out...it did not seem to gust out. Instead, the cap seemed to strengthen, and tighten around the storms neck, reducing the width of its updraft until it was little more than a turkey tower with a wall cloud underneath. Howard Bluestein once ducumented the demise of a suppercell by the same sort of mechanism.

I noticed on the Buffalo WSD-88 that this storm went from having a core with a peak 0.5 degree reflectivity of > 65 DBZ to just a patch of anvil rainout with reflectivity of just ~ 30 DBZ in 60 to 90 minutes.

Arrrgggg I feel like pulling my hair out. I LIVE in Waterloo and I couldn't even go after this beast due to lack of a ride! I kept watching it though, given its cyclic nature... we had a tornado warning but the storm died a sudden death once it arrived.

Beautiful shots Beau! You know our storms get good when even the Americans come up to chase!

Last decent structured supercell I saw in the region was June 14, 2004, and that doesn't even compare to yesterday's event!

This supercell tracked from Bruce county SE. One friend saw 5 tornadoes and tennis ball sized hail, while my other friend saw 2 tornadoes. Here is a picture of one of the tubes. No damage has been reported with the tornadoes.

Man I am green with envy!!!

Hi Laura

I noticed your car showing up on my GR 3 Radar Screen last night. You are about 2 blocks from my location on Burning Bush Road. I was going to send you an email to see if you went out. I see above that you were unable to do that. :(

The pictures I took were about 10 miles (give or take) north of this location. We managed to avoid the big hail. I did see your friends photos on the local news last night (I assume it was his video...perhaps not - looked like the same image though).

Thankfully it appears that the tornadoes didn't damage too much.

Beau

Good day,

Interesting enough as I was on Vacation in Toronto, Ontario that weekend.

I saw the blowoff from that cell, but had no view of it as I was in the city and not chasing ;-)

Anyway, awesome shots of the storm ... I can almost bet that if I chased it, the tennis ball hail would have destroyed my rental.

Don't feel bad Laura, I was on the beach when I pulled open the laptop and called to Dave Patrick to start crying hahaha. He told me about the baseballs and I almost started to cry!

I left right away and got to the cell as the last CG's dropped out and the storm curled up and died.

For anyone who is interested both Dave Patrick and Ron Gravelle have posted some images.

Man I am still angry at myself, I called the day a bust after the first round of garbage went through and then we get possibly the best storm of the year just an hour north of where I was. I hate myself.... LOL

Here is one of the radar images I've saved. The supercell was right moving. It died soon after.
