Deep convection ongoing over much of the intermountain Pacific NW as anticipated. Several severe-warned cells already underway in Oregon and Idaho.

As upper lvl disturbance interacts with daytime heating and topographical influences of the Cascades, intense cells should continue through the evening hours. Expect another afternoon and evening of mountain chasing over much of central Washington. Still enjoying the scenery of Mt. Rainier NP, so am hoping for another fantastic display of natural fireworks and moderate hailers over the higher terrain.

Will target Yakima ~ Morton ~ Enumclaw, WA triangle for later this afternoon as storms progress north/northwestward into WA. Good luck to the other few who may be out and about chasing the Pacific NW "alley." :-)

3 severe warned storms thus far for Nickel sized hail on Northeast Idaho and Southeast Idaho. not really sure if I will target any storms since most of the Severe wx is anticipated On the Western part of the snake plain (meso discussion). Currently there are widely scattered storms over mostly higher terrain, some of the storms could drift into the plain throughout the rest of the afternoon/evening.

As far as western Idaho. There are several severe warned storms due to wind/hail, definetely looks active there. Mucape near 1000-1500j/kg with lifted Indices to -7 so there is decent instability in place.

I am watching my area in anticipation of a decent storm that will actually last longer than the current activity (5 or less minutes and the storm dies). Even hoping for anything to occur at night for a lightning photo op which I had not had yet. Crossing my fingers for now.

No plans for chasing yet.....

Still have my Sprint signal and able to report from Chinook Pass, WA. Currently experiencing dime size hail and winds estimated ~ 40mph. Nothing severe, but CGs becoming more frequent and VERY close! With such high bases, I can still get some good views of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams from my viewpoint.
