It may not be the craziest weather video you have ever seen but it's rare to have downburst winds hitting hurricane force just outside of Boston so I thought it was worth it to post.

For those of you interested , I also recorded the days radar images.

A huge 12"+ in diameter tree was down on my road which I sent along to the NWS adding to their hundreds of reports including A SNAPPED TELEPHONE POLE! Why gotta love it. This storm was well documented kept track of by most everybody with a great 2-3 day leadtime. We started warning the general public yesterday we're not sure how well the message got through for them.

If you liked the video I'd appreciate if you subscribe to my YouTube NE chaser channel.

Well ................

Another season another storm :o

Here's some pictures as it came into Boston. The storm split, and there was a bit of structure to it down south of the city. The updraft looked like it was weakly rotating and had a bit of a striated base, would have been nicer to have seen it up close.

Active day in Tristate area...

Possible tornado in Bridgeport, CT left several buildings there heavily damaged and caused the city to go into a state of emergency. Golfball sized hail, and possibly larger, fell on the Triboro Bridge causing people on the bridge to loose their windshields.

Most storms had problems sustaining themselves, probably due to weak instability and marine influence.

I was in NYC Manhattan, at pier 66 on the Hudson, that is 26th street / 12th Avenue , saw a storm graze north of Manhattan, with hail/rain curtains, some lightning. For my position no rain but a nice gusty wind, and some rising scud attempted to do a wall cloud but failed to do more, right as it passed over the Hudson and Mid-Manhattan. Slideshow here

Yes!

That statement said it was straightline winds!

Straightline wind damage did occur with the gust front but a tornado did occur briefly just north of I-95.
