We were in the same area on a tour with Tempest. The storm on Mick's post followed a beast of an HP supercell. We may have caught a glimpse of a wedge tornado (showed a 168 shear marker) but that's pending further analysis of some photos and video. These photos were taken near the Colorado/Kansas border west of Saint Francis. Maybe some of the other folks in our group can add more details. Bob

NE Colorado/NW Kansas Chase

My first solo chase in quite a while...but I was rewarded with some great structure and several possible tornadoes although due to road options was not very successful capturing them on camera or video. (Didn't want to chance gravel roads solo) Intercepted the storms near Yuma and called it a night after the LP beauty WNW of Goodland. Nosed into the rain curtains W of St. Francis at one point, but backed out due to egg-sized hail and the increasing strength of the wind. May have been a tor in there; Spotter reports indicate a tornado at that time and position, but I did not see it...just a lot of violent motion that I thought it best not to attempt to enter further into. (!) Here are a few shots from the chase:

Storm Panorama (W-N) from SR 59 South of Yuma, CO:

Possible Tornado W of SR 59 (5-6 miles?)S of Yuma at 6:11 MDT. Substantial funnel and dust and debris evident. Could be just RFD:

Storm structure from the same spot. Note the little shear funnel:

We also chased the HP storm that tracked across northeast Colorado. As the storm moved east southeastwards towards Akron, we paralleled it to the south along County Road 30. South of Otis, CO we did observe a rotating wall cloud that kicked up a lot of dust underneath it at 6:15pm MDT. I would not call it a tornado however, because the rotation at the time seemed rather broad, weak, and confined mostly to the cloud base, though it was hard to tell for certain. At highway 59, we stopped using dirt roads which unfortunately forced us well south of the storm. We caught up to the storm again near Idalia, CO but due to work obligations we ended the chase early and headed for home. Congrats to all who saw storms yesterday! :)

One minute later, a lot of dust was kicked up under this rotating wall cloud. Picture taken at 6:15pm MDT from 10 miles south of Otis and is looking west northwest.

Sorry about the late reply, but I've got a huge backlog of chase pictures and videos I'm just now going through.

I wound up intercepting near Fort Morgan, CO, but with my lack of data I continued west and intercepted a trailing cell while the middle storm went tornado warned over Fort Morgan. I caught back up with it, but for the majority of the chase was behind it or in the core, and could never really get out in front of it. I came across some damage several miles southwest of Yuma:

Not sure if it was tornadic or straight line wind, but I stopped and reported the damage on Spotter Network anyway.

The highlight of the day for me was after I thought the chase was over. I stopped for food and data in Burlington, CO. Two outflow boundaries collided just to the east and a storm went up, right at dusk, without another cloud in the sky. This beautiful cumulonimbus exploded right in front of me with amazing cloud to cloud lightning. The tower was lit up by the twilight and a bright moon. It was just a surreal scene. I went after it and followed it to Goodland, KS. It didn't do much at the surface as I guess there wasn't much instability left at ground level and it died as quickly as it formed. Here's a timelapse I got of it. No tornadoes in this one, but its one of my favorite videos I've shot.
