Compared to the tornadoes on Monday and Wednesday in KS-NE-MN this past week, yesterday's "surprise" tornado environment in KS was more subtle and interesting, even with weaker tornadoes.

Here's a blog post and analysis of the setting/environment, for anyone interested:

I was intrigued by yesterday's setup as soon as I saw a 5% tornado prob w/ 0% hail and just a broad 5% wind risk. I'm still learning about forecasting, as was curious the ingredients needed to present a situation like this. Now, I'm real curious if anyone has radar grabs of the cell that produced briefly near Dighton. DDC is saying on radar it only appears as a rainshower.

I do not have a radar image from that time but I did go North of Dodge and shoot this picture of the showers shortly after the report. Looking at the radar at the time on velocity mode it had a broad area of rotation.

This is as close as I can get ya.
I was lost on the Cell we chased as they kept saying TOG but I was right there for about 3 hours and never saw anything but rain.

never heard of Princeton

I still have an idea when this tornado touched down.

We were heading to Lawrence for my son's graduation (from Juliard) party. It was raining and then nearing Lawrence ( then nearing 4:00) the rain lessened. In the sky was a front like greyish area moving from the West to East. Towards the south, was a darkening area toward Ottawa. I thought this was kind of weird. I am wondering whether this was the area that produced the tornado later after or before 4?

And I missed that other formation a couple days before that too
