Headed out of Amarillo about 5pm as storms were firing north and east of town. Made my way to White Deer and eventually Skellytown. Saw some decent structure, but nothing real interesting. The storms near Skellytown were dying out, and I noticed a "south end charlie" around the Groom area. Jetted down to Groom and got hail ranging from peas to occasional ping pongs with some very sporadic golf balls thrown in the mix. I could tell that it was evolving into more of an LP structure, so I headed south on Hwy. 70 towards Clarendon. Sat north of town for an hour or so watching the beautiful slow moving LP do it's thing. Never had a chance for a tornado, but it was a great storm nonetheless.
