6/01/07 NOW: TX/KS/OK

Surprised there has been little talk of the situation in northwest Texas this afternoon and evening. A strong supercell is currently moving southeastward through Foard and Hardeman counties in northwest Texas. The storm has a tornado warning that will be ending in the next couple of minutes, but still looks strong.

I'm currently sitting in Seymour, TX. I'm not actually chasing, but I'm on wheat harvest and my hotel is here in town. It looks like the storm will move close to where I am. It looks like there are two strong cores currently, with the farthest north storm tornado warned.

I am glad to see that someone is finally commenting on this. It looks like that the storm has split and that both are becoming right movers. One has an apparent tvs signature to it and both have strong meso indications. If these hold together into the evening hours, I would be concerned for the Dalles Fort Worth metro area.

It currently looks like the storms are beginning to line out... yet there is still rotation on the northern end of the line. The southern end is still developing and still needs to be watched.

There is some very pretty mammatus on this end of the storm.

Might want to add OK to this thread. Storms firing SW of OKC with a strong cell just SW of Chickasha...moderate meso and now a TVS with 100 mph shear being indicated. Maybe I should've headed that way when I had the chance, but instead I'm going to be watching this one unfold from the comfort of my home.

Edit: Spotters just reported a rotating wall cloud over highway 81 south of Chickasha moving ENE. Hail larger than golf ball is also being reported with this storm.

A definite sign of maturity. I have to agree on the increaslingly linear nature, though there is still some sign of mid level rotate in the northern and the second (3rd?) most souther cell. It looks likely that DFW will face a straight line wind and hail event. Oh what I would give for a view of that mammatus, at a safe distance though.

We're almost to Hereford TX. We are going to chase the storms that are SE of Tucumcari NM. We were in Plainview waiting to see what would develop all day, but are now on the move!

Anyone watching the sup in se Ks. Looks like it is hugging the co line between Wilson and Montgomery Co. Comments on this storm? The Tulse radar has the best vantage of this storm attm.

Rotation has increased in northwestern Throckmorton County in TX and is now under a Tornado Warning. I knew I should have hopped in the car and drove over there!

Cell that moved south of Chickasha, OK is now just to the west of Purcell and has weakened in the last 45-60 minutes, but is now starting to reintensify and spotters between Dibble and Purcell are reporting a new wall cloud with weak to moderate rotation.
