Around 5:30 PM EDT, a cluster of moderately organized thunderstorms tracked through eastern TN, and into NC. I started and stayed in the Fall Branch, TN as the storm approached. As it approached it started raining itself out. Initially, however it had sustainable organization and a well defined storm base. Unfortunately, as always in eastern TN, the other storms tracking along with it eventually caught up with it and undercut it's updraft due to their hastier pace. Ergo, I was left with a shelf cloud and a giant core that was measured at 70 dBZ.
Here is my documentation of the storms' life cycle.
Well Defined Multicellular Storm Base
Copiously Dense Core
Undulatus Formations Under the Belly of The Beast
Undulatus Formations Under the Belly of The Beast
A very well defined achetypal shelf cloud/arcus cloud structure
Wind pushing in hard from the west cutting through
Rotating scud underneath the center of the core
The totality of the storm
