As Peggy and I headed West towards Hays, KS today with a group of other chasers to position for the next couple days, we watched a nice funnel drop out of a low topped cell directly in front of us (~45miles East of Hays along I-70). The funnel persisted for ~5 minutes and descended more than half-way to the ground at one point. When we pulled over it dissipated and a nice wall cloud took shape, persisting for another 10-15 minutes.

Mesoanalysis showed an area of enhanced 0-3km CAPE and low level vorticity at the time (so I was told, I was not looking at data).

The funnel images below were shot by Brad Nelson and his girlfriend MaryLynn. I managed to capture a few stills of the wall cloud (to our West) and a rainbow (to our East) after we pulled over.
