Just sayin, but this could be another Greensburg if it plows into Hill City, it is a very strong supercell, intense rotation and many reports of a wedge.

Bill Hark just confirmed a slender white cone tornado about 10 miles south of Hill City KS. Duration about 5 minutes. He's currently on the 283 in that location, caught in between that cell and a new one coming up from the SW. No paved east roads, and no core-punching in a rental car!!

I have a hard time seeing large tornadoes out of those 2 cells. LFC and LCL heights are really up there (2200-2400 m and 1500m-1750 m respectively) if SPC mesoanalysis data is correct.

I was going to say the same thing, I've been on the phone with a couple of chasers on that cell and heard nothing about reports of a wedge. Anyway, I know other than the couple TOR reports I know Craig M. had some 2 inch hail earlier but thats the biggest I've heard yet.

One of my good friends is an amature and I just reported what he said, i just cussed him out over the phone for givin me a false tornado, i got all excited about hearing that. He was on the opposite side of a small rise in the land and then he said oops, its just a rope.

i'm off topic and i will deal with that, but seriously, is it going to be like this with every supercell headed towards a town? "Oh Lord, its the next Greensburg!"

This is FAR from Greensburg. In fact that cell has gona alot more linear and outflowish. I am surprised any decent looking tornadoes got squeeezed out of these at all with the LCLs. I am glad I didnt head to far NW OK today. Tomorrow may be a different story tho. Those storms in Kansas had great structure im sure and with Hollingshead on them. Good pictures to come!

Not tornado related, but there appears to be a pretty good bow echo forming in S. Central NE around Holdrege (Phelps county). Those can do quite a bit of damage too.

I getting a bit more concerned of a larger tornado within the next hour or two as upper level winds increasing from the west and LLJ increasing causing enhanced convergence.
This area in the Wakeeney, Hays, and maybe just south.

Jay Cazel and Amos Magliocco look to be very close to the baseball to softball sized hail core in KS now. I hope they are able to get out of the way. Undoubtedly there will be some serious downburst winds with the line also.
