Funnel clouds being reported with very, very small (low-topped) cells scattered in central Oklahoma. Some near the Ft. Cobb, Norman and Noble areas.

Add: KS

Brief funnels and weak tornadoes reported in parts of central Kansas... Warnings were issued for funnels east of Herington KS and south of Alma. Currently a warning northeast of Topeka near Rock Creek.

I'm working in the Salina area - nothing severe at this time.

Absolutley crazy and rare event taking place in KS and OK. Although tornado warnings are in effect for Jefferson and Jackson Co I wonder if this is all we are going to see. Several funnel clouds have been reported to nws in Topeka associated with a thunderstorm near Ozawkie moving SW:eek: at 15 mph.

Edit: Funnel cloud reported between Willard and Maple Hill near the Wabaunsee Shawnee Co line near I-70, 15 miles W of downtown Topeka still tracking to the SW:eek: at 15 mph.

Several Tornado reports now in areas surrounding Topeka, KS. Most recent tracked around Shawnee/Wabunsee county line. Interesting observation is that some of these storms are moving southwest, very slowly.

Streaming coverage from the venerable WIBW can be found here:

Cold Core event - cold air funnels? Driving in from Norman this morning, it looked like the cloud bases were every bit of 500 ft. AGL.
EDIT: Obviously not cold air funnels if we're getting reports of wall clouds, etc.!

Very impressive wall cloud associated with the storm just N of Topeka,Ks being shown live on the feed that mike posted. New funnel now forming on the right side of the wall cloud looking north.

Edit: Storm now cycling, looked good 3-4 minutes ago but the base isnt looking as impressive as it was.

Edit: New wall could crossing I-70 W of Topeka. Looked really good before they went back to radar. Its held together for about 20 min now.

Add Colorado into the mix as some pesky slow moving storms have developed near the foothills. A severe warning went out for a cell just west of downtown Denver eariler as the storm cored itself out. We had some pea-to-dime sized hail on campus which last a few minutes before things quieted down again. Thunder was low but constant, a very nice reminder than May is indeed here.

This multicell cluster is scooting north and looks to take on Boulder and points east to I-25 in the next 30 minutes. Storms have reintensified a bit over the last 15 minutes, but lack of any real shear will prevent severe storms from becoming likely. Heavy rains and potential for some urban flooding rank at the top for now.

Storms likely to continue through the evening and hopefully long enough after dark for us to get out and shoot some lightning. While rain may be an issue, slow movement will allow for plenty of chance to sit and shoot for a while assuming a good position with a clear view can be found!

We were heading south on I-35 when we decided to go to follw a sotrm we cathed some wallclouds and funnels near Platsburg, MO (North of KC).

At some time the circulation was lower than what we could see. Didn,t see any debris and didn't hear any report.

This chase wasn't expected and it replaces our yesterday's bust in Iowa.
