• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Is anyone on the TOR warned cell moving into Throckmorton county just NW of Abilene?

Confirmed touchdown in Shackelford county just south of Throckmorton county. The cell was originally TOR warned in Shackelford county and moved north into Throckmorton county which was placed under a TOR warning as well.

The couplet on the cell in Southern Baylor County seems to be getting better. Decent structure...this is the cell that came out of Throckmorton.

Also a decent cell on the Throckmorton/Young Co border. Both seem to have a shot at spinning up a tornado. It will be interesting to see what happens eastward into the I-35 corridor later. 2500-3000 j/kg uncapped SBCAPE with easterly low level flow.

FDR VWP is particularly encouraging for tornado prospects. Before 0-5kft flow was pretty unidirectional out of the east, but now has a veer through that column.

A second tornado was reported to have crossed Highway 380 west of Throckmorton. This tornadic cell will soon be absorbed into the leading edge of the bow echo which is heading toward the Dallas-Fort Worth area. TM

A couple of notes. First, looks like the discrete cells ahead of the bow echo are being absorbed and we're getting "line-ogenesis" right now. Second, I would anticipate some new discrete cells eventually downstream of this bow echo, seems like in these situations with a large bow echo it will sort of have its own little warm air advection pattern out ahead of it. Could be another burst of tornado potential later with this. Third, looks like all the cells in SW OK want to form into a line. Could have a LEWP forming soon. Fourth, decent cold pool has formed. ABI is reporting 59/57 and CDS 55/54. Meanwhile out ahead of the line we are seeing 75-80/65-70. This could aid forward propogation and wind potential into the evening.

Also of note is with this trailing stratiform precip region and pressure falls behind the bow echo we need to watch for wake low formation in Western North Texas in the next couple hours.

3 nice cells now right around the Wichita Mts and Lawton in SW OK. All three have rotation. One of the channels has a real nice wall cloud about to pass over the west side of Lawton. I have the rotation near 112th Street and SW Lee Blvd right now. Should pass near Highway 62 and NW 82nd street.

It will be really interesting to see what happens when the MCV interacts with some really backed winds and a stationary front that is draped across EC OK.....

Just had a tornadic circulation VERY NARROWLY miss my farm... we were watching the tv and monitoring wxtap, we thought we were in the clear, winds gusted to around 60mph out of the north as the centre of the circulation was just off the surface... we hid in our bathroom for a couple of minutes... I went back out as it sounded like the wind died down, I heard a distinct roar and whistling sound all around even though wind was back down to less than 20mph... and out of the east... sort of strange.
No damage reported in Piedmont. New circulation sw of us... should pass us off to the west.... still have lights, we're fine.

The price you pay to live in paradise
