Agreed - but as of 8:12pm (when the radar showed it appeared to be weakening) they no longer had evidence it was on the ground. New TOR just issued and they still don't have it on the ground...

Not saying there isn't a tor, not saying they shouldn't have a warning in place - just saying there's no reports in to the NWS that it still contains a tornado.

Nasty velocity couplet right over Sweetwater at this time. It looks even stronger than it had in the past 10 or 15 min. Also the storm is about 50,000 feet high!

That storm south of GLD is looking really good. Confirmed TOR as of the last 45 mins via Storm Spotters/NWS. Made a nice right turn also. From NNW to NE. Moving at only 15 so I am sure Goodland and points east have no excuse to not be prepared for a tornado if the storm so chooses to head that way. VERY nice velocity couplet 9 miles north of Wallace. Nice isolated event today. Must be a dream to those of you who made the trips out there today!

OMG. The TOR warned storm south of goodland has a rapidly developing and well defined hook with it. That storm does mean business. It is or will be producing a tornado, possibly large, very soon IMO.

There's Something About Sharon... Springs, that is! This tornadic storm is tracking through the same area as the one on 3-28-07 did, though not with as meridional a component.

Goodland Storm looks to have two seperate mesocyclones trying to form One heading due north the other more off to the northeast about 3 miles apart from one another. The BR looks amazing with a nice wrapped up hook centered about 12 north of Wallace.

I think the Goodland, KS Tornadic supercell may have 2 distinct areas where tornadoes are possibly occurring. One area is in the hook itself and the 2nd area is southeast of the main hook where there is some rotation and refecltivity return. In a loop, you can see the 2 persistent areas rotating together. Anyone else see this?

EDT: The new scan now has a TVS in area 1 and an ETVS signature in in area 2. Looks like I wasn't seeing things!!

Talked to my sister in Wichita. Evidently, some troubling reports relayed to media by a chaser on the cell around Protection, Kansas (SE of Dodge City)....details very sketchy but several EMS vehicles en route in the wake of a tornado that struck suddenly.

Take a look back at northeastern CO, folks! The supercell in southeastern Morgan Co/western Washington Co. has a maxed out shear couplet pretty much passing right over the small hamlet of Woodrow attm. Wouldn't be surprised if there is a tornado on the ground right now with this cell. Unfortunately if it does have a tornado on the ground, it will be passing through Woodrow as we speak...

we called Comanche county dispatch... so far no reports of damage/injuries around Protection... so if there is indeed sig damage/injuries... then the county dispatch is out of the loop. Interesting little isolated supercell indeed though!

By radar, it appears the tornado went just north of Woodrow, but not by much. Indeed, what a couplet!

Not sure how large a town Woodrow is. Reflectivity indicates this thing is entirely wrapped in rain!

Thanks for this report, Mike. This was kind of of second-hand, sketchy evidently relayed by a chaser to Wichita television station, but I certainly hope there were no injuries. I do notice a couple of preliminary local storm reports on this tornado already on SPC's page.
