4/23/07 NOW: CO/KS/OK/TX

Also note, the Fort Morgan storm had turned right, just before dropping the tornado. ** Edit, wow, that is a sharp right turn, almost 45 degrees.

which may well be contributing to the tornado threat of these decidedly "non-ominous" storms.

Let me rephrase that as I assumed someone would misread what I said, and it's my fault ;> I was addressing the numerous "major tornado" comments from earlier - I do not think either of those storms resemble long tracked systems that would help meet "outbreak" criteria.

There are no confirmed tornados on the ft morgan cell so far, just funnels.
given the spreads, storm was probably fairly high based, at least initially.

Just spoke with David Drummond and he is on the storm just NE of AMA. Wanted me to post this:

Tornado warning now on the cell near Pampa/White Deer. Looks like Amos M. may have picked a pretty good target today. [New method of tornado forecasting: find out where Eric N. and Amos M. are targetting!]

Yeah, not only that - they drive amazingly! They're probably the main reason we caught the Seymour Wedge!

The Boulder WFO just issued another tornado warning for the storm in northeastern Morgan County, CO. The meso tightened on the last 88D SR Vel scan.

For all the interested parties, I DID get nailed by the buisness end of this classic HP cell. We had 25 straight minutes of shooter marble to golfball size hail adn 50+ mph winds at our farm. Significant vegetation damage and I spotted a few new dents on our tin roof. I had several friends who called me telling me about a possible tornado that may have touched down north of Fort Morgan. Well gotta go, this is the storm of the day and its right in my own backyard!:D
