3/30/08 REPORTS: OK/KS

My chase report is similar to Mike H's and others so I will just share a few pics . Highlight of the day for me was the lightning show on the tornado warned cell .

I caught up to the two cells south of Cordell and opted for the southern one near Rocky. Had some nice views until dark
and then followed it north and east for a few hours after dark. When the cell finally went T-warned I was in the process
of heading home. Made numerous attempts to get around it west of Binger but the sizable hail and fog proved difficult.
New Trailblazer is no longer a virgin. Ran into flooding in Binger and then headed south to get a look. Filmed a slender tree
illuminated by lightning for a while, after realizing what it was decided to call it and head home. Stopped in OK City to fuel
and take in the moment. The cell was still warned to the SW and I watched SE inflow winds roaring towards the storm as
the sirens sounded. After a 11 hr drive and a quick nap with a visit from a Illinois State trooper, I managed to be at my
doorstep by 1 pm Monday. Certainly a long haul which turned out to be a relaxed chase due to storm motions, but its been
a long winter and I'm happy to have the first chase of the year under my belt.

Short video clip of chase on my website.
