I chased the lp storms from Winslow in NW Arkansas to near Conway. It was neat to see storms on radar taking on at times a somewhat classic appearance and yet in reality be little more than swirling thin rain bands. The last few storms down towards Central Arkansas got a little better but were still majorly lp and high based. I got this lightning strike on the last storm on the south shore of Lake Conway (its at 10mm so its much closer than it looks! - no more than around 500ft):

The dark streaky things are wipers..it was raining so I was in the vehicle.

Excellent shot Brian. I was in Central Arkansas as well and intercepted a few storms before everything went linear. I captured stills of the hail core in the storm that formed to the southeast of Conway just before sunset as it crossed I-40.
