Convection continues to strengthen in intensity over two areas: one in the traditional Puget Sound Convergence Zone just north of Seattle, near the city of Everett, while more isolated and rather intense storms have developed over the Puyallup River valley towards the north side of Mt. Rainier.

Just a moment ago, we had penny-sized hail here in the city of Orting, with a few CGs in an intense wind event as well. Radar has a tough time with these southern storms, due to the Cascade Mountain foothills.

Hope to grab some video and photos and post them soon! Ski reports show heavy snow with thunder at Snoqualmie and Crystal Mountain.
