I figured since a few of our members are headed out to Western OK and Northern TX a Nowcast should be issued. Along with the fact that storms are ongoing and a Severe T-Storm Warning is in effect for Abilene, TX.

The SPC expanded their slight risk from only NW Oklahoma to now almost all of Western OK and NW TX. It will be interesting to see their update at 2 pm.

Cu field forming in the E TX panhandle along the dryline. Clear slot seems to be enhancing the CAPE values in this area. Expecting initiation of the real show by 21z. Will leave Cordell for our initial target of Cheyenne, OK within the hour.

Just southwest of Miami,TX a cell is trying to go up, This may just fizzle out, but the 18z NAM 6-9 hours out if one looks at NAM's composite reflectivity, 21-24z It looks to have an isolated cell between Elk City, Ok and Woodward, OK. Lets hope for that.

Pesky plume of CI has overspread western OK and eastern TX panhandle over the last few hours, cutting down in insolation there. Looking at satellite trends, it looks like that should move north and northeast over the next hour or two, renewed heating should take place... - bill

Looks like we've got some development now in Southwestern Oklahoma, near Elk City, where there's been some insolation and good surface heating. MUCAPES in that area around 500J/kg per mesoanalysis.

Up to quarter sized hail just south of Cheyenne with constant dime sized hail falling. May not be much but its more than I've seen in quite some time!
