Hey gang,

The NWS has now unveiled their new potential sites for 2006. These should go through unless
there are further budget cuts this fiscal year.

SOUTHERN REGION:

TEXAS
--------

New Taiton (Houston area---summer)
Childress (summer)
Perryton (summer)
Fort Stockton/Bakersfield (fall)

NEW MEXICO
---------------

Guadalupe National Park (fall)

OKLAHOMA
-------------
Guymon (summer)
Wewoka (summer)
Chickasha (summer)

RUS Grants already funded, install for all 3 scheduled for this summer:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pecos, TX,
Hebbronville, TX (far southern Texas)
Antlers, OK

Senator earmark:
--------------------
Carthage, MS (summer)

CENTRAL REGION (install dates generally not known except for one):

GIFT TRANSMITTERS
-----------------

LaPorte, IN (coming very soon, awaiting parts)
Emmit County, MI

USDA GRANT
----------

Monticello, UT
Steamboat Springs, CO
CONGRESSIONAL EARMARK
---------------------

Kemmerer, WY

"HIGH RISK" EXPANSION SITES
---------------------------

Muncie, IN
Red Wing, MN (southeast of Minneapolis)
Anton, CO (halfway between Denver and the Kansas border on US 36)
Canon City, CO
Benton County, MO (western part of the state)
McDonald County, MO - The requirement for this additional transmitter is to
also cover NE Oklahoma. Most likely the Joplin, MO transmitter will be
relocated instead to improve coverage in southeastern Kansas, northeastern
Oklahoma and southwestern Missouri.

I would be happy to see the Avilla Missouri transmitted relocated. The coverage here in SE Kansas sucks. We are basically in a hole between ICT and SGF so coverage isn't that great.
