It's fitting that the St. Louis area would get wintertime thunderstorms 10 years to the day that I moved here from West Virginia (January 9, 2010). I went out on a 3-hour lightning chase southeast of town. One of my dashcams captured this close strike near St. Libory, IL.

I had night pick up in Edwardsville IL and heard some pretty decent thunders for january, unfortunately without ability to record.
