Wow! This appears to be a very impressive tornado. Looks to be in favorable chase country as well, at least the immediate scene anyways. Sure wish I could have been there. Somewhat of a needle in a haystack tornado. Thanks for digging this up and sharing it Dave.

I'll await the official analysis, but it appears that one area of disturbance worked that Mississippi storm across into Alabama, and may have been responsible for the warnings (and funnel photos) here in Huntsville around 4:15pmCDT. Those images are on FB right now; when they become otherwise published I'll link them here.

I know chasers were out on the event, but have yet to see any tornado shots from them. Looks like locals got all the shots on this one.

The local weather office is working to determine if damage in Huntsville and on Redstone Arsenal was from tornadic or straight line winds. Meanwhile, there are a couple intriguing photos on Facebook from that period, and roughly correlating to the damage area, that look like a tornado:
