Ozthunder's USA 2013 Storm Chases

23rd May 2013, Floydata to Jayton, Texas. Gustnadoes, Haboob and Flash Flooding.

Sorry for late post but have so much footage to work through now that I am back home.

This was a colourful storm and a visual feast. It was the only storm on my trip where I felt that I was "storm chased' rather than chasing. It was a situation where I was found wanting better radar. The storm was building and reacting to numerous outflow boundaries rather than steering winds.

As usual the video is best watched in full HD on Youtube

A gustnado spins up in front of the car, you can "almost' trace it to cloud base.

Haboob

Of a many streaks of dust that I had to drive through, it was that or let large hail, possible funnels and 70-80mph winds overtake you. (Video still)

Suspicious lowering (non tornadic I think), but was warned at time.(video still)
