on sat 3-9-13 I had to work until 4pm after that I checked radar saw stuff developing to my west and north and knew I couldn't get out there fast enough the stuff off to my north was wichita falls area moving east and some north. the stuff off to my north west was moving into just west of denton co and wise co. the only close option I had was to go after the stuff moving to the north of mineral wells. I headed west and got turned around a bit but quickly found my way to my target. I was able to get pic's and video of the back side of the storm that was moving North of mineral wells. Got to see some great lightning, a bit of structure, and some lowering type wall clouds on the storm that 3 of them did not last long. the one a bit more to the north did last a bit longer and I belive it was rotating and I got video of that as well as video and pic's of the other parts of the storm. All in all not a bad night to chase but I would have prefered to be a bit more north and not had to work on such a great first chase day in march. More days to come I seriously hope of chasing and weather as we start the 2013 SEVERE TORNADO SEASON 2013 and good luck to all the chasers this season.

Ended up not being half bad for a day this early in the season. Storms were weakly supercellular at best and the best views of the day came early. We got surprised by a wall cloud spit out by what looked like a linear piece of crap for most of its life outside of Payne, OK after it went severe warned:

Then followed up with a cool multi-tiered shelf near Gainesville, TX later on in the day. We didn't try to go too far into Texas mainly because we figured that each storm we got onto would continue to get seeded by the one to its south and we'd be stair-stepping for the rest of the chase. Finally finished up with the grunge fest that was coming up from around Decatur and called it a day:
