A really great chase day in South Dakota! High res models were initiating isolated supercells in the northwest portion of the state (similar to 7-14-11), although parameters for supercells and tornadoes were a bit more favorable. Headed out around noon from Rapid City and aimed to set up east of Buffalo, South Dakota. That worked out extremely well as by the time we made our way east of Buffalo, the first isolated storm of the day had fired off. Ended up taking some dirt roads to get close to it (not the best idea....), and saw this storm drop several small, short lived tornadoes.

After this storm died out, there was another storm near the ND/SD border that looked decent, and we made our way toward Lemmon to intercept it. Saw a couple of short lived funnels develop from it during its lifetime, but couldn't confirm any tornadoes. The shot below is what we saw as the storm was west of Lemmon, South Dakota.
