I bring tidings and one of my more exciting video transfers to date. May 24 1998 brought a localized outbreak of tornadoes to Oklahoma. This video by lightning researcher Tom Waner brings us to Grant County, where he and several Cloud 9 Tours guests would observe several tornadoes, the most notable being an imposing dust whirl type tornado near Medford that developed very close to the tour group. Of note is this one of the few known miniDV videos filmed before 1999, making these tornadoes some of the earliest confirmed to be filmed digitally (as of my typing this anyways!)
