12/23/09 NOW: OK/TX

MD out for E OK, E KS, W MO, and W AR. Cell trying to organize over Ottawa Co. OK. Hearing thunder and watching it come in from my office here in extreme SE KS.

OK Severe

The storm north of ADM turning right watch that storm.

Also new storms rapidly forming NE of OKC moving toward NE OK.

Now have S-warnings for Pontotoc ,Coal, Johnson counites in OK.

Watch will be out soon.

Might get TX in the title as there is reports of a large tornado with the Longview Texas tornado warned cell.

Great looking and very persistent couplet on that cell. That couplet has been very bright on the SRV scans for over a half hour, although its diminished quite a bit in this last scan. Heard a third hand report that the tornado was visible from Longview, TX with damage.

To make it more interesting two more warnings were just issued in TX, Might make for an interesting evening. The others are not so discrete nor impressive as the first but adding to the strange winter weather.

Edit, finally got another site to load and the Southernmost cell might be the next play. The first may have cycled as well as it seems to be looking a bit better again.

5:27 EDIT: Spotters are reportedly tracking the first one visually again.

Yes it was one crazy night. 12 hours of coverage now my voice is gone. Looks like a significant tornado went through Lufkin this evening as well. Another tornado touched down in Cherokee County with the same storm that produced the Longview tornado.
