12/22-12/25/09 REPORTS: Ice, Snow, Wind, Sleet, etc. etc.

Grand Forks was destroyed with 25 inches. This may be a single storm record for the city. The NWS is investigating. Surpised they don't have a list compiled already. The south suite of my office building was drifted to the roof. Numerous single story homes and apartaments have drifts to the south side roof.

Oct. - Dec. 1909 was the record Lincoln broke with the most snow within that time period. The 1909-1910 snow season went on to be the 14th snowiest winter with 40.1". The snowiest winter is 1914-1915 with 59.4".

I wonder if Omaha, Norfolk or Lincoln will get close to the record this year.
