Thought I'd start a thread dedicated to images and/or post-mortem reports from the current winter storm.

I spent the last 24 hours in Cedar Rapids with Brandon Sullivan covering the ice storm for KGAN and KFXA. Icing started early this morning and has continued through the time of this post. Warmer temps. aren't too far to the south and I figured much of the ice would be gone by the morning, so I snapped as many pictures as I could tonight.

We have gotten about 6 inches of snow so far in the Mankato area with heavy snow currently falling. There is some thunder snow (on radar) just east/south east of town. Trying to keep my eye's peeled for any flashes ;)

2.3" of snow here since about 7 p.m. Trying to log in to Espotter to report but of course I forgot my password and resetting it isnt working.

I direct the morning show at KGAN/KFXA (I get to put Brandon/Scott on air a lot of the time). We had a decent amount of ice on the tower yesterday, and the bit of wind yesterday caused the tower to twist and wobble in the air, guy wires dancing. Was pretty interesting to watch.

Of course it's just that irritating sideways-blowing misting rain right now.

The snow is being whipped around pretty good, but I have about a half to an inch of snow near Pampa, TX. I was hoping for more, but not gonna happen.

Snapped a few shots around 2am on xmas eve. FRZA fell most of the day but mixed with snow and sleet at times. Some warmth off the lake even bumped us above freezing for a few brief moments. Still it was one of the better ice events around here.

FRZA is still falling and I will attempt another photo shoot when its light out if there is still ice left.

All pictures taken near my house.

5.8 inches here in New Brighton now. A lull until the next wave that is expected to come through tonight. May see another inch or two between now and then.

Added a few tenths of an inch to the total with the light snow that's been falling so will say a solid 6 inches and maybe some change. Heavy snow tonight. Took a couple pictures, not great quality because of the lighting and just generally not caring about these pics too much.

No pics, but 9-10 inches of snow in Hastings, Nebraska. Merry Christmas to everyone!

Lots of blowing snow covering the sleet and ice from this morning. Wind is amazing.

You'll have to excuse the lack of sharpness on this photo (low light hand-held). Anyway, You can see where we are with depth snowdrift-wise. This is on the east side of our home where the house broke the strong wind out of the NW and snow drifted to the wood fence. I have not looked at the official totals so far but the non-official reports out of the media is 14-17". I hardly believe that but we'll see. Looks like a lot less that has simply blown into piles...

My uncle who lives in Olney Texas says the snow has ended and he has 8" of snow on the ground. He lives just west of the Fortworth area. Just north of his area 9" has been reported and 2.3 inches has been reported in Dallas almost breaking their record of 2.6 inches of snow in a day. Oklahoma City has reported 14" of snow making it their snowiest day on record and it is still snowing there. Blizzard conditions exist from Texas into Canada.

Tulsa Blizzard!!

:DOne of the best thunder snow storms I have ever seen.

The 2-4" snow band was like hurricane in sense of how fast everything change when it hit with 2-3" flakes falling and thunder snow off & on for over two hours.

Hundreds of cars are stuck all over the city.

I have snow drifts to four feet on south side of house.

The snow is moderate with lots of drifts on East & West roads.

More in the morning with pics.

Merry Christmas from Tulsa.:D
