I am just SW of Jersey Village. Witnessed strong rotation in the clouds as they passed over my house, flooding is everywhere. These tornadic cells right now are so rain wrapped, it is scary. Too flooded to chase.
Current reading of rain in my Vantage Pro since 9am....5.30 inches and more on the way!

5 minute reprieve and now pouring again. :D

Interesting wording from NWS for me tomorrow...

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX

DISCUSSION...
OUR HEAVY RAIN/SEVERE WEATHER NIGHTMARE TO CONTINUE FOR ANOTHER DAY.
AT 18Z...A WARM FRONT EXTENDED FROM LAKE CHARLES TO HOUSTON TO
COTULLA. AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WAS DEVELOPING ALONG THE FRONT NEAR
COTULLA. THE HEAVIEST RAIN CONTINUED TO FOCUS ALONG AND NORTH OF THE
WARM FRONTAL BOUNDARY. THIS IS LIKELY TO CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING.
IT IS UNCLEAR WHETHER THE AREA WILL SEE THE BREAK IN PRECIP DURING
THE EVENING LIKE LAST NIGHT...BUT AT THIS TIME WILL MAINTAIN HIGH
POPS OVER THE NORTH TONIGHT. SOUTH OF THE BOUNDARY...STORMS ARE
SURFACE BASED AND HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE WEAK TORNADOES.
COVERAGE IS SCATTERED AT BEST AND DON'T FORESEE ORGANIZED HEAVY RAIN
THREAT SOUTH OF I-10. WILL MAINTAIN THE FLOOD WATCH EVERYWHERE
BECAUSE OF THE ANTECEDENT RAINFALL.

TUESDAY COULD BE BRUTAL. THE WARM FRONT SHOULD BE PULLED NORTH AS
THE 500 MB LOW IS EJECTED NE AND A SURFACE LOW FORMS OVER NORTH
TEXAS. THE POSITION OF THE SURFACE LOW...AN APPROACHING COLD
FRONT...THE DRYLINE AND TREMENDOUS WIND SHEAR FAVOR THE DEVELOPMENT
OF STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS. SUPERCELLS ARE EXPECTED AHEAD OF THE
SQUALL LINE WHICH SHOULD CROSS THE AREA DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON OR
EARLY EVENING. HELICITY VALUES ARE PROGGED TO REACH 200 M2/S2 BY
LATE AFTERNOON. OTHER INSTABILITY PARAMETERS ARE IN PLACE AS WELL.
THE GROUND IS VERY WET AND IT WON'T TAKE MUCH WIND TO KNOCK DOWN
TREES. THE WIND ENERGY WITH THIS SYSTEM LOOKS IMPRESSIVE. SPC HAS
OUTLOOKED SE TX IN MODERATE RISK FOR TUES.

Wow Carrie! That's great. I hope you took some pics! I've just read a new tornado warning for jersey village. Read this:

RADAR INDICATED THAT THE POSSIBLE TORNADO WAS WRAPPED UP IN HEAVY
RAINFALL. WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED FUNNEL CLOUDS AND A POSSIBLE
TORNADO WITH THIS STORM WHEN IT WAS OVER JERSEY VILLAGE AT 242 PM
CST. SPOTTERS ALSO REPORTED DIME SIZED HAIL OVER WEST ROAD AND
JONES ROAD AT 300 PM.

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN THE INTERIOR HALLWAY OR
A ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET ON THE LOWEST LEVEL OF A STURDY BUILDING. USE
BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM
WINDOWS.

Getting some pics would of course be nice, but not getting sucked clear out of the house is always pleasant as well. Carrie, you're VERY lucky that meso didn't have something on the ground. :pale:

I have been out all afternoon, up, down and around the 'hood. Lots of rotation with the storms but nothing that photogenic. I wanted to go chase but the flooding is so bad down here. Everything is badly rainwrapped. The warning for the cell 3mi E of Katy is exactly where I live and I was on it, lots of rotation but nothing else.
My husband spent the day watching with me and every time he saw scud, he would yell........there's one!!!

I am going out tomorrow and get some flood pics, and probably following the "mod risk" that is in my area. Wish hubby was home tomorrow, could use his truck to go chase and get better flood pics. As long as he drove and wasn't trying to be a spotter. LOL!!! :D

Nearing 6" of rain today. 2" yesterday. More on the way and still falling. Lightning has been awesome, CGs with deep rolling thunder. Several cracks of thunder, but no electric loss.....so far.

carrie,my chase partner and i tried to intercept that storm by coming down 69 and hitting I-10 and come face to face with it,but it would have been BEARS CAGED,so we came back home.
waiting for it tomorrow up here in E.TX.

That is the same storm that went over my house. It had the spin but not ready to set anything down this far W. Heard of Jersey Village having a possible touchdown and Pasadena got hit by another cell. I really wanted a spotter report from the Greenspoint and Atascocita areas but my son wouldn't go home to give me one. And he won't take Mom out to chase on his day off.
Gear up for today, this one may make the record books!
