Nice signature on radar on the 515pm MDT scan with the once tornado-warned cell southeast of Albuquerque..

Storm has since weakened with the tornado warning dropped, but was the first of anything decent I've seen down there all day. Wasn't sure if anyone had ventured out that way, probably not so much that far west.

A couple of embedded cells in the northwest Texas panhandle, but overall a rather quiet day. Few severe warnings and only the one tornado warning.

Tornado watch has just been issued for the area of e NM/w TX. SPC is calling for isolated but STRONG tornadoes. Too bad this wasn't more of a sure thing and during daylight. I was on the fence all day about shooting down there!

I'm here at home looking things over. I will definitely shoot out the door if something gets cranking in the area. I agree with the possibility of a strong tornado or two. Hopefully I can get on an isolated cell sometime this evening.

The weather in Albuquerque has been in a fairly active and agitated state throughout the day today. There were several reports of high wind and hail, including 70+ mph straight line winds that slammed into NW Albuquerque and uprooted several trees. You certainly could tell the amount energy in the atmosphere here as it's been terribly windy all day (and it's still howling outside) with the clouds continuously racing off to the NE...something you don't see very often in central NM.

East of Los Lunas is a "hotspot" for supercells in this region as the area is relatively flat compared to the mountainous terrain north and east of there.

I would have loved to been out and about today, but was called into work...blah. I did manage to see an impressive shelf cloud move across the city with the Sandia Mountains in the immediate background. I wish I had my camera as it would have been a very unique shot.

The only major downside with the active weather pattern here was it did force the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta to cancel all activities today and I don't have my hopes high for the weather to clear out by tomorrow morning for the final day of the Fiesta.

Law Enforcement reported a tornado near Edson, Kansas just before 10pm MDT. I believe this was the first report of the day. Storm looked very linear, so I imagine power flashes due to high winds or a spin up along the line seg caused the tornado report.

Pretty quiet in the watch area in terms of severe weather.. probably a noisy night in general, but nothing significant to report.
