Woke up at 2pm :p and saw the Slight risk just SW of home. Seems like the Slights haven't been producing much recently, but w/ supercells the likely storm mode I was feeling better about this one. Checked the radar and noticed there was already a lone cell in south central Nebraska. Never would have made in time for the tornado it produced but caught up to it west of Marysville, KS around 6 CDT. It was pretty weak looking at the time, but eventually got a wall cloud going again. Another cell developed just a little back from it and had a wall cloud going too, eventually they merged and all of the sudden got great structure. Ended up directly under the rotation and saw a couple 1 second dust devils spin up that got me a little worried for a second. Got in better position and saw a lowering with very rapid and organized rotation just west of Blue Rapids, KS, but it never produced and the RFD wrapped around and the road network became crap due to the biggest creek I've ever seen: Turtle Creek. Got around it though and back to the storm for a CG lightning barrage that was up there with the best of them. Probably would have been about as good to stay closer to home and catch those high winds and big hail. Saw a lot of limbs down in Syracuse, NE on the way back. But great chase for Sept. Felt like spring. Still have yet to get a decent view of a tornado though .

After realizing that I couldn't catch the TOR warned cell south of Beatrice I settled for the hailers coming out of Columbus, NE. I ended up seeing some beastly structure and getting blasted by ~70mph winds (at times) and relatively small hail to what the storms were dropping earlier. I saw a semi overturned on the I80, I hope the driver isn't too banged up.

The storm near Greenwood, NE:
