Several impulses have come off the highlands to the east of Phoenix and rapidly developed multiple severe lines. At this time the lightning from the line now moving through northeast Phoenix area is almost constant, such as I have personally not seen outside of a Plains supercell. There is an unremitting low distant rumble of thunder. Quite extraordinary for this area.

IR imagery of that storm is impressive! I just got home from work here in SoCal, and at work the son of a co-worker called him to comment on the storm in Tempe, AZ. He said it was 110F out with golfball-sized hail falling (on his prized vehicle)! I doubt his temperature report...how about the hail stone sizes?
