Once again, a small thunderstorm system that was very isolated made it's way to the Tri-Cities in TN, within a SE motion. The cell inadvertently started out very small and isolated, with a solid core, but as it progressed closer to The Tri-Cities and Erwin, the result was a small bow echo, that was unorganized. It spread out over the tricities and lost i's structure and organization. The movement of the clouds were amazing, although I can definatly say that at a few times I noticed characteristics of rotation for few moments. Just hints of it. The mean dBZ was around 60. The topography just totally destroyed the updraft of the storm and caused it to cave in on itself. That's what storms do in TN!

If I were you, I would never expect a storm to last long in east TN. Usually storms last around half an hour or an hour, but that's it.

There were some very clear CG's behind that sheet of rain, unfortunatly I was unable to snag any shots of the bolts mentioned.

MN after dark supercells

Decided to stay further north closer to the boundary as that low came out of South Dakota. Too bad it was an after dark event as these would have been some pretty cells. One very delayed spotter/chaser torn report on the LSR's as this cell merged with another just to the south and headed east but I'm a little skeptical.

MODS: Can Minnesota be added to the title? Thanks

Chased southwest Minnesota with a couple of other local chasers. Got on the Lyon/Redwood county storm just after sunset and just before it went TOR warned. Followed it to near Comfrey but let it go as it started to look unorganized on radar and started moving at 55 mph to the southeast. Incredible lightning on this storm which looking at video does illuminate the base from time to time but it's still very hard to tell what's going on under the base. Lots of video to go through so maybe I'll find something but in the mean time I do have some video posted on Youtube. Definately a weird chase since I didn't leave to get in position until 4:00 pm, didn't start chasing till ~9:00 pm, only 350 miles and still didn't get home till 2:00 am. Anyways, here's the video.
Timelapse of the storm going up:

Taken shortly after the storm went TOR warned, the base gets illuminated a few times but still very hard to see what's happening. Shutter speed is slowed down to pick up the lightning. If anyone wants the original copy of the video to mess around with let me know. I'm going to slow the video down to get a better look and will post anything that I find.

Sorry for the late post but have had trouble getting pictures off camera. This report is from Kansas. Chased storm in Ness Co. got in some wild wind at Goodman Sate lake. Gust front had moved thru with winds out of the NW at about 30 to 35 mph. With hail to nickel size. Then a loud roar and the wind turned to the South at what had to be over 70 mph picking water up from the lake and making a foggy mist. It lasted only a few seconds then the wind came out of the East. 1st thought was Tornado but not sure no visible funnel from the clouds. But was scary and fun chase for Aug, few pictures here.
